Position Summary:
St. Augustine Catholic High School is seeking a Head Wrestling Coach to lead and develop our Boys and Girls Wrestling program.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and lead practices, conditioning, and competition preparation

  • Coach student-athletes in technique, strategy, discipline, and sportsmanship

  • Oversee Boys and Girls wrestling seasons and meet scheduling

  • Maintain compliance with school, league, and AIA regulations

  • Communicate with athletes, parents, and Athletic Administration

  • Ensure proper supervision, safety, and injury prevention

  • Manage equipment and competition logistics

Qualifications:

  • Wrestling coaching or competitive experience preferred

  • Strong understanding of wrestling rules and training principles

  • Ability to motivate and mentor high school athletes

  • Strong leadership and communication skills

  • Must meet all school and diocesan requirements

  • Oversee both Boys and Girls Cross Country seasons, including scheduling and communication

  • Maintain team discipline and uphold school, league, and AIA policies

  • Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and Athletic Administration

  • Ensure athlete safety and proper supervision at all practices and competitions

  • Assist with equipment management, course setup, and meet logistics as needed

Qualifications:

  • Cross Country and/or distance running coaching experience preferred (high school or competitive level)

  • Strong knowledge of training principles, conditioning, and race strategy

  • Ability to work positively with high school students

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Must meet all school and diocesan requirements (background check, fingerprint clearance, and required trainings)

Compensation:
This is a paid, seasonal position. The coach will be contracted as an independent contractor.

  • Golf coaching or playing experience preferred (high school, collegiate, or competitive level)

  • Strong knowledge of golf fundamentals, rules, and course etiquette

  • Ability to work positively with high school student-athletes

Compensation:

Supervise students in practice areas, locker rooms, busses, and at all times during the season. Stress the importance of academics. Push the concept of pursuing victory with honor. Teach skills necessary for competition from the basics to advanced level depending on the athlete. Exercise patience, tolerance and diplomacy in relations with all players, parents, co-workers, officials, and spectators. Interscholastic activities are an extension of the classroom and as such, your actions, behavior, and interactions with our student athletes should be reflective of this. High school coaching experience preferred.
