GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Position Details

  • Department: Athletics
  • Reports to: Athletic Director

Candidate Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Prior coaching experience in competitive sport you are applying for (high school level or higher) preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with student-athletes
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  • Commitment to the holistic development of student-athletes and fostering a cohesive, positive team culture

Required Certifications (to be completed within 2 weeks of hire):

  • NFHS Coaching Certification (Fundamentals of coaching AND Level 1 cert)
  • Current CPR/AED Card
  • Current First Aid Card
  • NFHS Concussion Training
  • NFHS Heat and Illness Prevention Training
  • Valid DPS Fingerprint Clearance Card with IVP#
  • Completion of school-provided training for student transportation (white buses) before season begins

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective training sessions and tactical plans to improve individual skills and overall team performance
  • Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and character development
  • Maintain player safety and well-being at all times
  • Organize and oversee practices, matches, and program logistics in accordance with AIA and NFHS guidelines
  • Provide ongoing mentorship and feedback to athletes
  • Collaborate with the Athletic Department to support the overall mission of the school and athletic program

The E-Sports head coach is responsible for managing the E-Sports team; setting lineups, communicating with students and families, and abiding by AIA bylaws. The head coach is responsible for maintaining a safe environment for all students, as well as promoting positive teamwork and sportsmanship.

Stipend Range: $1,500 - $1,791 DOE

Qualifications: Valid Arizona Teacher Certification or Substitute Certificate required. Employment as a teacher with the Catalina Foothills School District preferred. Must have ability to organize and supervise a total sports program. Should possess substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport and, at the same time, continue to examine new theories and procedures pertinent to the field. Must be CPR and First Aid certified. Must have a current IVP Level One fingerprint clearance card without restrictions. Must have a current Arizona driver’s license and clean driving record and be willing & able to drive a district vehicle (SUV or mini-bus) to events and serve as the supervising adult.
