Qualifications

  • Previous cross country coaching or experience at the middle school, high school, or collegiate level preferred.
  • Strong understanding of cross country fundamentals, specific techniques, and safety principles.
  • Ability to work with student-athletes of varying skill levels and developmental stages.
  • Alignment with the Great Hearts mission and commitment to character-focused coaching.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Consistent availability on school days at or after 3:30 PM for practices, meets, and team activities.
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain before the season begins).
  • Level I Fingerprint Clearance Card (may be in progress at time of hire).
  • Clean and professional background consistent with Great Hearts and school standards.

Compensation
This is a stipend-based position. Stipends vary based on experience, role, and availability.
Typical stipend range: $1,200 – $3,500 per season, depending on level and commitment.
