Assistant High School Wrestling Coach
Position Overview:
We are seeking an Assistant High School Wrestling Coach for the 2026-2027 Season (Nov - Feb) to support the growth of a competitive and character-driven wrestling program. The ideal candidate brings experience, leadership, and a passion for developing athletes both on and off the mat.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Coach with practice planning, instruction, and match strategy
- Teach and refine advanced wrestling techniques and situational wrestling
- Help build a strong, disciplined, and competitive team culture
- Mentor student-athletes in character, accountability, and leadership
- Assist with competitions, travel, and program organization
Qualifications:
- Wrestling experience required (high school minimum; college preferred)
- Previous coaching experience (any sport) preferred but not required
- Ability to contribute to the vision and growth of a new program
- Strong commitment to athlete development and well-being
- First Aid Certification (required)
- NFHS Level 1 Coaching Certification (required)

Scottsdale Prep, a Great Hearts Academy, is seeking dedicated, disciplined, and mission-aligned flag football coaches to lead and support our high school flag football programs. This paid position offers the opportunity to mentor student-athletes, build character, and develop flag football fundamentals within a program rooted in classical education and virtue.
The ideal candidate embodies the Great Hearts philosophy and is passionate about player development, teamwork, leadership, and long-term program growth. Coaches will play a key role in creating a unified 9th–12th grade flag football program that emphasizes discipline, safety, and excellence both on and off the field.
Responsibilities
- Coach and develop student-athletes in high school flag football, including practices, games, and team activities.
- Teach and reinforce flag football fundamentals, positional techniques, game strategy, and safety methods.
- Assist in planning and executing structured practices and training sessions, typically beginning at or after 3:30 PM on school days.
- Promote sportsmanship, discipline, accountability, and leadership among student-athletes.
- Support game-day operations, including setup, supervision, and sideline responsibilities.
- Collaborate with the Athletic Director to ensure program alignment and consistency across grade levels.
- Utilize on-campus facilities including the football field, weight room, and speed/agility training areas.
- Mentor student-athletes academically and personally, serving as a positive role model.
- Maintain compliance with Great Hearts policies, league rules, and all safety and concussion protocols.
Qualifications
- Previous flag football coaching or playing experience at the middle school, high school, or collegiate level preferred.
- Strong understanding of flag football fundamentals, position-specific techniques, and safety principles.
- Ability to work with student-athletes of varying skill levels and developmental stages.
- Alignment with the Great Hearts mission and commitment to character-focused coaching.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Consistent availability on school days at or after 3:30 PM for practices, games, and team activities.

Compensation
This is a stipend-based position. Stipends vary based on experience, role, and availability.

Qualifications: Valid Arizona Teacher Certification or Substitute Certificate required. Employment as a teacher with the Catalina Foothills School District preferred. Must have ability to organize and supervise a total sports program. Should possess substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport and, at the same time, continue to examine new theories and procedures pertinent to the field. Must be CPR and First Aid certified. Must have a current IVP Level One fingerprint clearance card without restrictions at the time of hire. Must have a current Arizona driver’s license and clean driving record and be willing & able to drive a district vehicle (SUV or mini-bus) to transport students to matches and serve as the team’s supervising adult.
