Overview
Dobson High School is looking for an enthusiastic and safety-conscious JV Cheer Coach to lead our junior varsity squad. The JV coach plays a vital role in our spirit program, serving as the bridge between foundational skills and Varsity-level performance. We need a mentor who can inspire school spirit while prioritizing the technical progression of our student-athletes.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Instruction: Teach and refine motions, jumps, stunting progressions, and tumbling with a heavy emphasis on proper technique.
Game Day Presence: Lead the JV squad during football and basketball games, ensuring high energy and crowd engagement.
Safety Oversight: Implement and enforce rigorous safety standards for all stunting and physical activity; ensure all athletes are following proper progressions.
Collaboration: Work closely with the Varsity Head Coach to ensure vertical alignment in cheers, choreography, and program values.
Supervision: Manage the squad during practices, away games, and school events, maintaining a high standard of conduct.
Qualifications
Technical Knowledge: Strong background in cheerleading (sideline and/or competitive) with a solid understanding of NFHS spirit rules.
Safety First: Knowledge of stunting progressions and safety protocols is non-negotiable.
Certifications: * Valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card.
NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching
Character: Must be a positive role model with the ability to manage team dynamics and conflict with maturity.
